FootyComps Launches on New Platform - We Walk You Through the Changes!
New features, new engagement, new layouts, but still the same amazing football prizes to be won. Check out what we now have to offer!
It’s great news for all FootyCompers - we’ve migrated the site over to our own new platform! Which sounds, on the face of it, incredibly boring and not of much interest at all for you, I’m sure!
However, we’ve stacked the platform full of amazing little features that will hopefully see you engage in the site even more, whilst still giving you amazing chances to win incredible prizes and experiences.
We wanted you to know exactly what has changed and give you a bit of a walk-through so you know where things are.
Equally we know with every new product launch there’s the chance for the odd bug or two, so if you see something that doesn’t look or feel right, just message us on our Contact Us page, via email, or through our very own (did we say brand new yet) internal messaging system!
Finally, this is just the start, not the end-point - we have a roadmap of cool stuff to bring you to enhance the FootyComps experience - stay tuned and we’ll announce them here too.
Key Areas of the New FootyComps
Firstly, it’s worth saying that we’ve always loved our branding and colour scheme, so that stays exactly the same, giving you familiarity with what you’ve experienced so far at FootyComps.
However, the layout is slightly different with the navigation menu moved from the top to the side for a start, and more ‘hero’ features on the home page, signposting you to the various areas on the site.
Bigger, albeit subtle changes have also been made throughout the site, and below we tell you what to look out for.
Responsible Gaming
We’ve built the site with responsible gaming at the heart of it. We truly want all our FootyCompers to enjoy their play with us and not get spend more than they can afford to. This should be a fun bit of entertainment rather than something that’s relied upon.
Obviously every single competition has a free entry method and this counts exactly the same as any other entry method.
We have a robust suite of tools at your disposal to use, if you think you’re spending too much, or it stops being fun - we encourage you to use these, with no judgement from our side - head to the Settings section in My Account and check out the following tools:
Pause your account - set a time period to pause your account and only come back when you’re ready.
Spend limits - have an amount that feels comfortable to spend over a certain time period? Set you spend limits and we won’t allow you to spend more. You’ll never be encouraged by us to change them.
Exclude and delete account - again, no judgement - you say the word and we block your account off.
Harm Signals - an internal tool that flags potential gaming harm to us - we will reach out if we think there may be problems, but we will do so with discretion, transparency, and integrity.
My Account
This area is absolutely crucial to your experience with FootyComps and we’ve given it a real upgrade.
Here, you’ll easily be able to find your Orders, Tickets, Account Details, ID Verification, Winners, and be able to claim your prizes and instant wins easily.
Even better, if there’s an action that falls on your side (for example uploading your ID for verification, or claiming a prize, we signpost it so you know there’s something to do and you’re not waiting for us to contact you.
You’ll also be able to find your Rewards too - this is completely new and explained below but if you’ve hit specific milestones or tiers, you’ll find them here.
You can also contact us from this area if you have any questions or issues and we’ll respond with your replies landing here too (more on this below).
Head to your Account and check out the new layout now.
Support
This is a big upgrade, as you don’t have to email us any more (you are, of course still welcome to!).
We wanted to build something where all the comms sit within your account and it’s easy to start and have a conversation with us. It’s still email in style, rather than a chatbot, but we receive all messages internally and can respond with all replies landing back in your Account section.
Whilst it may not feel like a huge change on your side, it will really keep things efficient and will hopefully give you a much better service.
Competitions
Ah yes, this is what you’re here for! The competitions and more importantly the prizes!
There’s fewer changes here and the concept is still the same - enter for free via post, or enter at a low-cost online via FootyComps. Quite simple really.
All the usual great stuff remains - coupons, sales, ticket bundles, and the ability to add or remove as many tickets as you like.
The layout is a little different and we offer much more information around the competitions so it’s easier to understand what’s up for grabs, when, and how!
We have also added questions before you get to the tickets purchasing page, and we’ve of course kept these football focused - it’s a little extra-layer that adds a little bit of pause for you to make sure you definitely want to purchase and it’s a little bit of fun along the way!
Finally, payments - nothing has really changed here other than we’re using a different payment provider and so it may feel different at first. However, we’re using Stripe which tons of major retailers and consumer sites use so it should still feel familiar.
Partner Competitions
So, you thought we were done with Competitions!? Nearly, I promise…
A completely new area to the site is that we can now host partner competitions - these will always be football-related, but the idea is we partner with football clubs, media sites, consumer brands etc, and they can run their own competitions on the site.
This means there’ll be an even bigger range of prizes available for you to get involved in, with no other restrictions or consequences for you! Win-win!
Our recent partnership with Farnham Town FC is a great example and you can see their page, where their future comps will be, here.
Rewards and Engagement
Now it gets even more fun! We’ve added some incredible new features that see you get rewarded with XP, site credit, mystery rewards and more!
When you start playing on the new site, you’ll earn XP for numerous things, and you’ll move up levels as you play - rewards will come throughout this levelling up.
On top of this we have streaks, challenges, achievements, mystery rewards, and seasons to get involved with too.
We may not have launched with all of these but we’ll slowly turn them on and you’ll see a completely different playing experience and your loyalty with FootyComps will be rewarded, as we look to engage and retain you as players, rather than purely focusing on bringing new customers to the site!
Refer A Friend!
We also want to reward you if you can recommend us to your friends and networks. Every single FootyComps customer now has a referral code that they can find in their Account area.
Send this to your networks and we’ll give both you and every new FootyComper that you bring in £5 of site credit that can be spent on any competitions.
There’s NO LIMIT to this either, so if you bring in 50 new genuine customers (there is a spend min for the new customer to trigger the payout) you’ll receive £250 in site credit.
Winners
The winners section remains quite simple but it has it’s own space, so if you’re looking to see your name in lights, then this is the place to do it.
Charities
Whilst we’ve given monies to charity so far, it’s all been very manual and not very clear on the site.
Now? Charities have their own pages so you can see who we’re supporting and why - it also gives them a bit of much needed exposure, whilst you can see how much we’ve given away to charity too.
Remember, the charity element comes off of our profit margin, and NOT out of your pocket - giving back is absolutely key to us doing this, and we want to support as many grassroot football causes, as well as wider causes as possible.
Feel free to highlight any charities doing amazing work in the world of football.
Blog
We now have content - real content, not the AI slop kind (and we never will).
On our blog pages, we’ll announce new partnerships, tell great winner stories (like our two Scotland World Cup Ticket Package winners story), talk about football, run some studies (like our Price of Football Shirts study), and generally give you more information like, well, this post!
If you’d like to write something relevant, or want us to write about something in particular, then please get in touch!
Ok, that’s it for now - when we have new feature announcements, you know where to find them! For now, you can check out our latest competitions below!
